Our client inherited the home in which he grew up in which was a Victorian house on 3 floors which was quite large and in need of some repair / updating. The client considered selling the house and was told only developers would probably be interested. On the basis that developers could carry out the project coupled with the fact the client did not really want to get rid of the home where he grew up, he decided to try to develop the property himself. At this stage he appointed us to prepare proposals for conversion of the house into flat units. We prepared proposals, submitted for planning which was refused and following further consultationl the application was granted on appeal for 5 flat units. We then prepared Building Regulations documentation and working drawings for tender and carried out the contracrt administration as the project was completed on site.
