We designed Headline House to sensitively redevelop a prominent former commercial site in Ashford, creating fourteen new homes within a carefully considered residential building. Stepped gables address both Stanwell Road and Chaucer Road, reflecting the rhythm and scale of the surrounding 1930s houses while responding respectfully to the neighbouring Grade II listed St Hilda’s Church. Buff and red brickwork, plain tiled roofs and contemporary glazing give the building a familiar yet distinct character. A semi-basement reduces the development’s footprint at street level, creating space for improved landscaping and helping establish a well-balanced addition to this important corner site.
