This project provides new and remodelled accommodation in order to consolidate and enhance the college’s standing as a High Performance Athletics Centre. The new single storey building consists of a sports hall, changing rooms and a strength and conditioning suite and sits within a new open parkland landscape,helping to frame views through the site. It is topped by a sinuous, wavy, aluminium roof that opens up to address the main pedestrian route through the campus. The building is an exemplary low energy and sustainable development with an Excellent BREEAM rating and renewable energies such as a ground source heat pump, photo-voltaics and solar thermal systems.
