Rigby & Rigby architecturally designed, constructed and created a contemporary glass extension to the rear of a period farmhouse in the countryside, as well as a refurbishment of the existing property. The design had to carefully consider the juxtaposition of the historical architecture of the property, and the highly contemporary glass design, to complement rather than contrast. Moreover, the design had to sit comfortably in the rolling hills of the country it resided in. Rigby & Rigby provided slimline high-quality glazed sliding external doors that opened the property into the garden area. These doors also provide an illusion as to what is inside and what is outside – a feeling of being ‘within’ the nature of the gardens. The nature roof to the profiled roof provided beautiful views from the upper rooms too.
