Originally designed by William Wilkinson, Riach Architects was brought in to carefully restore and refurbish this four storey Victorian property in particular the historic part of the house which had fallen into a state of disrepair through its previous use as student accomodation. We also designed and created a contemporary extension to the existing half basement and added a further basement level below this creating additional space for a sleek modern family home as per the client£s brief. The extension features a landscaped green roof surrounded by large roof lights and zinc eaves. The new family room in the extension features a Swiss £Sky-Frame£ glazed sliding door system, complete with concealed framing allowing for an uninterrupted view to the garden whilst also letting in large amounts of natural light to create a warm, welcoming space.
