About the practice

The practice aims to improve the built environment by concentrating on the character of buildings, spirit of place, and sustainability. It has established a contemporary vernacular architectural language as well as a reputation for sensitive alterations / renovations of traditional and historic buildings. We believe that architecture should reflect it's time and place and that a detailed appreciation of our historic buildings, and traditional / local building techniques, can inform a contemporary architecture that is rooted to it's locality while avoiding thoughtless, literal re-use of a 'traditional' style for it's own sake. Mae’r practis yn anelu gwella yr amgylchedd adeiladol trwy ganolbwyntio ar gymeriad adeiladau, safle, a chynaladwyaeth. Mae wedi datblygu iaith ac arddull bensaernïol sy'n gynhenid gyfoes yn ogystal a enw a adnewyddu ac addasiadau sensitif o adeiladau traddodiadol ac hanesyddol. Credwn y dylai pensaernïaeth adlewyrchu ei gyfnod ei hun a thrwy werthfawrogiad o adeiladau hynafol a dulliau adeiladu traddodiadol a cynhenid, gellir hysbysu pensaernïaeth gyfoes sydd wedi ei wreiddio i'w ardal, ond osgoi ail-defnydd llythrennol, ramantaidd a difeddwl o ffurfiau adeiladau a deunyddiau.
