Our clients asked us to redesign the interior of their apartment within an industrial dockland building in Bermondsey. The original building contains a lot of character and tactility, so our intervention focused on maximizing these characteristics through simple interventions. By adding small timber elements throughout, we added a domestic warmth to the robust industrial masonry construction. A polished concrete floor allowed light to penetrate to the back of the space. Floating joinery pieces created notional divisions of space while allowing for a free, unobstructed circulation.
