“My Lounge” is a design concept for a new type of airport lounge, a more tactile and, perhaps, urban experience. It was developed from an understanding that different personalities enjoy different experiences, and so we sought to create a much different environment to previous lounges under the No.1 brand. My Lounge is meant to be more casual, playful and accessible. It has an informal feel that is embodied in its materials, colours and even its functioning. It is a self service lounge. The client’s goal was to use the power of cleverly conceived joinery and systems to reduce unnecessary oversight, making the idea of luxury more affordable to more people. As with all lounges though, the overriding aim was to create a sense of place within the generic airport environs.
