New Build
The design concept at the root of this project was a response to the client’s desire to achieve maximum diversity, character and choice for prospective purchasers. This was achieved by creating a pattern of interlocking apartments, expressed on the facade of the building through colour and a system of concrete ‘fins’ that define the perimeter of each individual apartment. The massing and position of this contemporary building echoes that of a mill that previously sat on the site, recreating the scale of the original courtyard and providing continuity with the history of the site. Pattern House is part of our wider masterplan for the regeneration of the Castle Street area in Stalybridge. (See the Longlands Mill and the Stalybridge Masterplan projects) (reForm Architects was established by Nik Randall, the founder & Chairman of Space Craft Architects. This project is the work of Nik and his previous practice.)
