Reardon Smith Architects Limited , 10-13 The Leathermarket , Weston Street , London , SE1 3ER , United Kingdom
ReardonSmith was the Lead Architect on the multi-million euro redevelopment of Adare Manor, County Limerick’s world-famous hotel and golf resort, and its 840-acre estate. The largest hospitality project ever known in Ireland. The scheme, developed by ReardonSmith Architects and ReardonSmith Landscape in collaboration with local architect, Michael Healy, included the restoration, refurbishment and extension of existing buildings, conservation of historical structures, the design of eight new buildings and structures, a complete overhaul of the golf course and the enhancement of the landscape and estate grounds. The heritage assets were at the heart of the design vision with the restoration, refurbishment and extension of the 19th Century Manor House and its surrounds as the central focus. The Manor House was painstakingly restored preserving as much of the original character and material as possible in adherence to best international conservation practice and with reference to the ICOMOS Charters. All public rooms, including two restaurants and 63 guestrooms and suites were refurbished. A new five-storey wing, designed as a harmonious addition to the 19th Century neo-gothic manor house, provided 54 new luxury guestrooms, a ballroom extension with complementary back-of-houseareas. A third extension provided a new spa pool for the new spa facility created in the lower ground floor of the manor house. Role: Lead Architect & Contract Administrator RIBA Stages 1-7 Heritage: Listed
