Reading + West Architects were commissioned to extend and remodel the ground floor of this substantial modern period style detached home. The client was keen to introduce some dynamism to the property which whilst comfortable and generously appointed lacked character and connectivity to the garden. We remodelled the ground floor and created a large kitchen / garden extension introducing huge sliding glazed door that provide a direct connection to the garden whatever the weather. The doors allow daylight to flood into the space and this is supplemented with a large flat frameless glass roof light. We provided a full architectural service and worked closely with the client to design the interior of the property.
