Design for a new Nursery School and Children's Centre to replace existing outdated facilities on contaminated land site in centre of Godalming. Works comprised preparation of detailed feasibility studies for demolition of existing buildings and construction of a new purpose designed two storey building comprising Nursery School and Children's Centre on ground floor with staff and meeting room facilities at 1st floor across main frontage of site. A variety of design solutions were developed with Surrey County Council and the Nursery School Management Team in order to provide the optimum accommodation on a tight narrow site as well as obtaining planning consent within a high profile development area of the town. On gaining planning approval detailed design works were undertaken to enable a negotiated contract to be put in place to ensure early completion of the works. Completion of the building and external areas was achieved in April 2011 enabling the Nursery School to re-commence operations after Easter 2011 following relocation to a temporay home during the building works.
