Swirles Court provides contemporary accommodation for 325 post-graduate students. Inspired by traditional Cambridge collegiate architecture, our design arranges the accommodation around three open-sided courts, each individual in character, and within three to five storey buildings that define strong street frontages in line with the site master-plan. The scheme incorporates a number of low energy aspects targeting the BREEAM Excellent standard, and include high levels of cycle parking to help encourage residents to travel sustainably, through carefully designed landscaping and pathways which nuture a stronge sense of connectivity. The scheme forms part of the embryonic Eddington district to the north west of Cambridge, and won the Property Week University Halls of Residence of the Year award.
