Alteration to existing property, Within a Conservation Area
This locally listed Arts and Crafts home in Wimbledon Village, built in 1907 and influenced by Charles Voysey, was remodelled, refurbished, and extended to suit modern family living while respecting its historic character. A contemporary side extension, positioned in an underused part of the garden, introduces a light-filled kitchen and dining space with roof lights and sliding doors that connect seamlessly to the landscaped grounds. Inside, larger openings between rooms create a more open and flexible layout. Unsympathetic alterations were reversed, with original detailing restored through careful research and collaboration with conservation officers. The dominant 20th-century garage was rebuilt in a sympathetic style, ensuring it supports rather than competes with the architectural integrity of the main house.
