This versatile garden building was designed as a multi-use retreat—serving as a summer lounge, gym, bar, reading room, and party space—while also housing a collector’s car in a secure, dust-free garage visible from the garden room. Additional facilities include a potting shed, wash room, and a rainwater harvesting system to support sustainable gardening. Technical challenges were overcome with augered pile foundations to protect the root systems of nearby mature beech trees. A complex rainwater collection system integrated into the roof now feeds an automated irrigation network. Echoing the detailing and materials of the main house, the new structure blends seamlessly into its landscaped setting while uniting functionality, sustainability, and design elegance.
