The Bettys and Taylors Group commissioned Purcell to design and oversee the refurbishment of the retail area of their Ilkley tearooms and shop. Each Bettys premises is unique, sitting harmoniously within the building and surroundings that it occupies. High quality finishes and attention to detail were a driving force for the project with the client keen to introduce an ‘Arts & Crafts’ ethos to the design. Initial preparation and concept designs commenced in March 2015 with onsite works over a three-month period. The finished design involved limed oak cabinets, sand cast bronze ironmongery and hand painted sign work. Throughout the project, Purcell worked very closely with the client and the joiners to achieve high quality finishes and outstanding attention to detail.
