Purcell is undertaking the creative repair, extension and alteration of Maesteg Town Hall. The design provides an enhanced performance space, studio, and community learning space accessed via a new, freely-accessible, and vibrant front-of-house to capitalise on the opportunity to provide a potent symbol of the area’s cultural vibrancy. The project comprises a new-build element, providing front of house facilities, informal performance spaces and additional studio space to accompany the existing performance space. Additional works include conversion of the existing market space into a community library with work pods for start-up businesses, as well as a local history centre and café.
