The Victoria Centre is a Grade II* listed building on Vincent Square and home to the School of Culinary Arts and Hospitality. A feasibility study and heritage impact assessment undertaken by Purcell informed proposals for a phased refurbishment of the building. The first phase was to remodel the reception space and oversee a light touch refurbishment of the College Executive Team suite. These works involved substantial structural alterations and remodelling of the existing spaces. The next phase of work relocated extensive M&E Services into a new plant space allowing the creation of a new top lit student social space within the old courtyard with a striking contemporary staircase centrepiece. Other internal areas were refurbished to provide teaching kitchens, teaching spaces, staff and student facilities, with 3 new lifts installed to create improved access throughout the building.
