Leonora House is the second new-build extra care home for Octavia Support. Located in the Maida Vale Conservation Area, the original 1960s four-storey building contained a large number of small studio flats without lift access and constructed in a way that made its conversion into wheelchair accommodation impossible. The new building, which was completed in January 2010, provides 21 self-contained 'wheelchair-friendly' flats together with associated communal facilities and a replacement day centre, named the Harris Centre, arranged over two floors, for Age Concern Westminster. Three years after completion, following the withdrawal of funding for the day centre, it was converted into a separate dementia wing with high-dependency, wheelchair-standard accommodation for five people.
