Set within the grounds of a Listed Country House in a rural location in Wiltshire. The building is for a purpose built pre-prep school as part of a rolling programme of improvements turning the school into co-ed. Sited with the former walled garden the building incorporates part of the boundary wall within it but replaces dilapidated garden sheds and glass houses. Design seeks to contract rather than compete with the Listed Building and its setting with a contemporary design using a zinc raised seem 'rolled roof'. The principal elevation is set facing south across the new play area and garden towards the house with large areas of simple glazing. The north elevation contrasts with this with minimal openings with a new brick facade. Ingenious section makes use of north light and natural ventilation.
