The brief for this 5 storey Pimlico London Townhouse was multi-faceted, combining functional with aspirational improvements. A general refreshing of the interior, performance upgrade of fabric and services and improved wheelchair and ambulant disabled access between levels was requested. This was coupled with a more open architectural challenge to bring more natural light to the lower floors, re-introduce much needed outdoor space to a garden-less house, and ensure provision for home working. This included the desire to establish both an independent office space and a close off-able formally arranged sitting room in the traditional townhouse model.
