PROJECT BRIEF: Refurbishment and amalgamation of two buildings into a single residential dwelling PROJECT INFO: This project involved the extension of an existing residential property and the amalgamation of an adjacent commercial property to create a spacious, elegant and functional family home. The brief included a full residential renovation to create a stunning four-bedroom, five-bathroom dwelling with ancillary space including two studies, playroom and meditation/yoga room. Prestige Architects oversaw the entire project from brief to final reveal, encompassing the demolition, amalgamation and extension of the commercial property next door. A complete reconfiguration of the two properties was necessary to forge a new layout, resulting in a significantly larger property with an incredible flow of space. Working closely with the client, the Prestige team developed the design for a seamless transition throughout the new space, tailored to the family's specific requirements. The showpiece of this project is undoubtedly the staircase which, with a skylight at its peak, ascending from ground level to the top floor through the centre of the property, saturates all three floors with natural sunlight. The team oversaw all aspects of the design and specified all finishes, including new timber flooring throughout, natural sebrano , travertine, Brazilian quartzite stone and new bespoke joinery with integrated lighting. Additionally, a new high-specification AV system was installed, connecting the lighting, blinds, heating and cooling, plus a state-of-the-art music system.
