We designed the Aaina Community Hub in Walsall to provide a range of facilities to disadvantaged women in the local community and we’re thrilled to say that the plans have been very well received, according to the local newspaper, The Express and Star. For this project, we set out to create a purpose build sustainable and innovative community hub that would be a lifeline for those women who need it most. The design reflects the local need and has been influenced by those who will use it, providing a safe gender and culturally sensitive space to access work, skills, vocational courses, digital literacy and health and wellbeing initiatives to address health inequalities, poor mental health and social isolation.
