A new development on the site owned by the Diocese of Southwark and the local parish comprising an 8 storey residential block with 69 flats in a mix of market-led and affordable housing and a new church and community centre. St Peter’s Church will provide a 300+ seat worship space on the first floor with a multi-functional community centre and offices on the ground floor that will provide facilities for the local community. The Church is clad in brick at ground floor level and brass and is seen as a series of volumes stepping up to the worship space on the first floor. Digitally printed glazing and a standing stone from Caithness carved with text by the renowned artist Richard Kindersley hints at the building typology. The courtyard space that separates the buildings is a public open space for all members of the community to use.
