Emmaus live/work community was designed for the homeless charity Emmaus Winchester and provides a safe environment for 23 companions to call home, where they can work and rehabilitate, in order to regain the confidence to integrate back into society. There are 23 bedrooms with en-suite facilities linking up with shared dining and living accommodation. The kitchen links through in to community cafe, and shop that sells the recycled/up-cycled goods donated by the general public. The revenue generated is used to develop the community into a self sufficient organisation, helping to meet the running costs as well as providing a small allowance for the companions.
