This family lived in a beautiful barn conversion overlooking Cheshire Open Countryside, however they found that the kitchen / diner space was too small for their family and when entertaining. They wanted a small extension allowing them to reconfigure the space with a huge kitchen island, lounge area with log burner and dining space overlooking the garden and fields beyond which would flow freely into the large garden. Quite a bit of discussion was required with the planning department who were not keen on adding anything to the barn conversion that would look like a domestic extension, or take away from the character of the barn development.
