The brief for the project was to create an extension to the house to provide a living room that maximised the views of the valley that this property enjoys. The proposal consists of a single storey extension, accessed from the existing house with a terrace and associated landscaping. The extension is built partly into the ground. There is a walkway around the extension to provide maintenance and there is stepped access to the garden. A copper roof is proposed to reflect the mining history of the area. Aluminium framed glazing and white render walls provide a contemporary contrast to the rest of the property.
