This project involves a contemporary two-storey extension to a Grade 2 listed thatched cottage, carefully designed to blend modern aesthetics with the historic charm of the existing buiding. The extension features a zinc roof and lime-rendered walls. A structural glass link connects the extension to the original cottage, maintaining visual separation, while enhancing the connection between the two spaces. The design rationalises the internal layout of the original building, formerly 3 cottages, enhancing functionality and flow while preserving all of the the building’s historic features. The result is a thoughtful and sophisticated renovation that respects the heritage of the cottage while offering a modern living experience.
