A fast track scheme with the McAvoy Group involving the off-site construction of an entire new hospital wing. The 3-storey scheme represents a 25% increase in floor area and went from concept to occupation in just 15 months. The 2000m2 Ambulatory Care Unit provides medical, surgical and nurse practitioner-led care in a relaxed and comfortable environment, allowing treatment for up to 150 patients per day across four specialisms, without hospital admission. The new wing links seamlessly within the existing hospital using bespoke structural flooring modules to remove removed the need for ramps and steps. Mechanical ventilation, heating and cooling systems were pre-installed in ceiling voids in the factory, believed to be an industry first for healthcare.
