P+HS designed the Yorkshire Dales National Park Authority?s new Northern Headquarters. As a major promoter of sustainable development the YDNPA was heavily involved in the design and briefing process in order to develop a cost effective sustainable development. The National Park Authorities overall intention was to provide new, comfortable, accessible offices for staff, the community and other visitors. The purpose-built offices cover 11,000sq ft and accommodate 63 staff. All materials used were highly sustainable in accordance with YDNPA policy, the building where possible combined traditional, locally-produced materials from sustainable sources like locally-quarried stone.
