Alteration to existing property, Brownfield site
6th Floor , 84 Albion Street , Leeds , West Yorkshire , LS1 6AG , United Kingdom
A mixed use community hub and library and was formed from an extension and complete refurbishment of the few retained buildings on a former school complex site. Facilities include a library, café, nursery, community hall, offices, teaching kitchen, sensory room and community church space. In addition there is quite extensive provision for musical activities - music rooms, a practice area and recording studio - for Tang Hall SMART, a Community Interest Company that provides music clubs, classes and activities to the community and disadvantaged groups in the area. We worked closely with group representatives and the LA to deliver an interior that reflected the local area and catered to the sensitive needs of the user groups which ranged from physical impairments and autism to dementia.
