The client brief was to extend and refurbish their house to provide additional living space that would be light filled and opening to the garden. In addition, the client asked for a new build store and workshop in the garden. The design delivers these requirements through a new open-plan kitchen, dining and living room extension with a high-pitched ceiling and large format sliding doors. A glass and steel canopy connects the house to the new workshop, providing a sheltered sun-trap for sitting outdoors. Other refurbishment works include a new utility and bathroom. Peter Rawlings Architects provided a comprehensive architectural service from inception to completion, including a planning application.
