Alteration to existing property, Listed Building - Grade II, Within a Conservation Area
The client brief was to extend their house to provide a new spacious kitchen-dining room and to convert their existing kitchen into a boot room. The scheme provides a large open-plan space with a glazed gable facing the garden and meadow, shielded from the sun by exterior oak louvres. The design is both contemporary in its look and sits comfortably with the listed building, particularly through the use of a steeply pitched tiled roof and flintwork panels in the walls. Peter Rawlings Architects provided a comprehensive architectural service from inception to completion, including a planning and listed building application.
