This project involved the conversion of existing agricultural buildings in a sensitive and very beautiful part of Oxfordshire. The design provided offices and large workshop for sculptor David Harber Ltd. and also gave additional office space for the company to let. We worked closely with the client and project manager to ensure the completed building's overall performance is excellent. Due to the large machines used to manufacture the sculptures sound proofing between the workshop and offices was paramount and this was achieved through the design of new sound absorbing constructions and upgrading of existing fabric. Similarly the build optimized the overall thermal performance to ensure comfortable and efficient work spaces. Natural light was key to a successful working environment and the large gable windows and rooflights not only provide this but they also help to define the building's general aesthetic.
