The project involved the replacement of a single storey holiday home on a small triangular plot with two new 1.5 storey dwellings. The height of both buildings was constrained by the adjacent development of bungalows. The shape of the site created severe constraints on the use of the space and the layout of the two dwellings. The site offered excellent opportunity to capitalise on the coastal setting and the views out to sea and of the adjacent farm land. Planning was successfully achieved with a pair of complementary designs that whilst quite different in many ways shared a similar form and use of external materials and finishes. In particular the over-sailing roofs evoke the dwellings' connection with the surrounding seascape and landscape. Pentargon was employed for works stages 3 & 4 - i.e. including gaining planning and Building Regulations approval.
