The Practice was appointed as executive architects to an original design by Mike Matthews Architects for this exemplar community regeneration project in the redundant St Ivel cheese packing factory on the edge of an industrial estate. Phase 1 involved the creation from the existing shell of a 10 pin bowling alley, plus a furniture assembly/repair facility for poorer families and a food storage/distribution hall for the needy. Later phases will involve further conversion of the existing shell to form counselling/ therapy rooms, a multi-purpose conference centre and church hall, along with ancillary facilities and extensive car parking. Phase 1 has been completed.
