A new country house that has replaced a neglected twentieth century property on a rural site in the New Forest National Park. The design was conceived as a faceted crescent facing due south with views across the two hectare garden and open fields. The southern facade is symmetrical about the two storey central core (with a basement) which contains the master bedroom suite and living areas. The two single storey wings contain further bedroom suites. The house was constructed of ‘SIP’ (Structural Insulated Panels) with the building envelope being completed in seven days. The external walls are finished in lime render and cedar boarding, with the roof clad in wester red cedar shingles. The house was designed to achieve minimum code 3.
