Appointed by the Trustees of the 8th Earl of Radnor 1989 Settlement, Pegasus provided urban design and architectural services for this sensitive development in the historic village of Alderbury, South Wiltshire. The project comprised proposals for 50 dwellings designed to a high architectural standard, along with the relocation of facilities that are of benefit to the village. These include the provision of a school expansion site and paddocks. The development will enable a new pre-school to be provided, using some of the school expansion site land, and a relocated Guide hut. The design of the dwellings has been influenced by the traditional architecture of the area integrating the development into its setting and providing an attractive place to live. The quality of the architecture has been safeguarded through the provision of an architectural character design code that describes the style, setting, harmony with the street scene, proportion, craftsmanship and materials of the development proposals.
