PDP Architecture are currently working with the Royal Military Police Trust to produce an atrium structure in the existing courtyard of the RMP Museum at Southwick Park in Hampshire. The museum was previously designed by PDP in 2005 and is housed in the old stables block to Southwick House which is famed across the world as the base from which the 1944 D-Day landings were controlled by Churchill and Eisenhower. This project proposes a lightweight glass in-fill structure to enable the existing wings of the museum to be joined and improve the flow of the museum. Space will also be created for larger vehicles currently kept maintained in storage, to be put on display. PDP continues to work with the Trust, liaising with English Heritage, Winchester City Council and Hampshire County Council towards submitting a planning application later this year.
