PDP were able to meet the requirements of the client (Guinness Hermitage Housing Association) through RIBA Work Stage A to L to deliver this exemplar Extra Care housing scheme of 50 dwellings with communal facilities which also serves the local elderly community as a meeting place for social activities. Residents also have their own lounges and care facilities as well as access to the landscaped gardens. This dual aspect of wider community facility, coupled with secure private residential accommodation, provides a juxtaposition of functions. The building is part steel frame and is designed to achieve level 3 of the code for sustainable homes.
