SIZE: 260 SQM GEA The single storey new build dwelling achieves a very low energy standard meeting AECB silver standard with 3-4x thermal performance of standard Building Regulations. It has been designed to accommodate First Age to Third Age living, which along with being fully accessible, allows you to remain at home throughout your life in a fulfilling place. It proposes the question: What is it worth to you to have a building that helps you live longer? It consists of a single storey new build dwelling with refurbishment of an out-shed into additional rooms. The living room is conceived of as a pavilion in the garden. The difficult challenge of marrying low energy with abundant natural light is met with glazing on both sides and a high, enclosing ceiling to give the combined experience of generosity and intimacy. The roof to the new build is copper. The home has been carefully located to maximise sunlight throughout the day and make the most of the views and garden.
