Alteration to existing property, New Build
SIZE: Approx. 390SQM Designs include: New glazed bridge, additional floor, new office and reception fit out. A new glass bridge will link the existing building to a new office space to enable the expansion of the global HQ of the telecommunications company. As well as centralising the reception (and its staff costs), the new construction sets out an identity that emphasises connectivity, whether is in the highly visible and lit glass bridge, the office desk layouts, main conference room or the refectory and its ability for small or collective meetings between staff and between staff and clients. Drawing on the architect’s 100% planning permission record, the architect proposed and achieved an additional floor allowing the threshold at which the HQ would have to relocate to be increased giving additional capacity, resilience and lower expansion costs than relocation. At the same time as deferring significant costs of time and disruption while the company continues to expand, the work increases the capital and rental value of the site.
