Pewsey library is a building of just over 300 meters squared which not only aims to provide the traditional library services to the public but also fufills the Council's Workplace Transformation project. In addition to a library the building includeds fully accessible personal care facilities for the disabled, a touchdown facility for Wiltshire Council staff working in the community and a meeting room where local people can meet council officers. The building was designed to minimise running costs with U values in excess of the current building regulation requirements. The heating is under floor heating from air source heat pumps and there are photovoltaic panels on the south facing roof to power the heat pumps with the surplice electricity going into the grid. The building opened in December 2010.
