This sustainable new build dwelling replaces an old and outdated 1970's bungalow. Accommodating four bedrooms and a open plan living area at ground floor, the house has been designed to Active House principals and will greatly improve the energy performance compared to the previous building. Although contemporary in its design, the house draws on local vernacular architecture and it's materials are all sourced locally keeping embodied carbon to a minimum. The building envelope will adhere to high standards of air tightness and thermal efficiency, substantially reducing the amount of energy required for space heating. As such, the heat loading demand is satisfied by a geothermal heat pump system combined with MVHR.
