New house design for a developer client in Wimbledon, south west London. The design was approved by Merton Development Control in spring 2020. We were asked by the client to create a design for a contemporary family home within a conservation area. The building occupies a narrow linear site which is sandwiched in between large existing Victorian houses on either side. The surrounding buildings and other site contraints informed the configuration of the design. Long views from front to back garden and a double height internal courtyard have been used to create large volumes which give a sense of expansive spaces on this narrow site.
