This sustainable new build in the New Forest worked with planning policy to replace a small gardener's cottage with a new sustainable and future-proof home for the retiring couple. Nestled into the slope the house wraps around a central courtyard and connects with the annexe, creating a place of gathering and celebration of the landscape. Whilst a constrained floor area we worked with the conservatory policy to integrate a primarily glazed dining space which is a part of the main structure. An exposed glulam structure celebrates the construction and truth to materials whilst axial views out mean you are constantly connected to the landscape in which you are immersed.
