PJMA was appointed to work on a New Early Years Centre for The Abbey School, a project that has progressed through a number of stages. Initially The School intended to extend the building that The Early Years Centre was already housed in, which presented some considerable issues. Chris and George prepared a design and obtained planning and listed building consent for this proposal. Before this was implemented, however, The School identified another potential home for The Early Years Centre. PJMA subsequently worked with The School to explore the potential of the building as a New Early Years Centre. The School subsequently bought the building, following which PJMA prepared a design involving the refurbishment of the existing building and a significant extension to provide a new multi-purpose hall. This design has recently received planning approval and is due to start on site in July 2012.
