Located on the edge of Oxford, the new house replaced the existing 1960’s dwelling, opening up the site to make most of the setting. To achieve the clients wishes for the size of the property, a 2 stage planning application process was used, incorporating Permitted Development options as well as full use of Planning Policy volumes, due to the site being in the green belt. The new property boasts 6 bedrooms, a library, study, reception area, breakfast, family room and kitchen. Each room offers views out and across the site to maximise the connection with the landscape. A fully glazed kitchen and breakfast area, along with a reflection pool blur the gap between inside and outside space. The house is supported by a new double garage and pool house, designed to compliment the main building, with strong visual and physical links between them.
