NRAP were appointed by Clare Castle Country Park with the challenge of revitalising a listed nineteenth-century railway goods shed to provide a welcoming entrance to the Park and a useful community space for the bustling Suffolk village. The Goods Shed’s revitalisation formed the principal element of the Heritage-Lottery-funded project to transform the visitor experience across the Park. It had been used as a community space for many years but had become tired and unwelcoming. NRAP’s approach was two-fold: to provide a flexible space for a variety of community uses and to make the Goods Shed legible again.
