A contemporary reflection on a familiar Herefordshire typology, Court Meadow was designed to re-interpret the rural vernacular form of a series of interconnected elements, akin to a group of traditional farm buildings. The plot had close neighbours to the south and east, with historic parkland to the west and long range rural views to the north. Our careful design approach won approval from the local planning authority, enabling a large family home to be created which truly makes the most of its setting and is respectful to its neighbours. The house is heated with a ground source heat pump and underfloor heating loop throughout and the super-insulated timber frame system was selected to minimise embodied CO2 and reduce running costs.
